It isn’t a story we prepare for, or even allow ourselves to think might one day be ours.
And yet my life became shaped by three losses, each one leaving its own quiet ache, its own shadow I had to learn to walk beside.I began writing not to be brave, but to stay connected — to keep them close in the only way left to me.
These words became a place to set down what my heart could no longer carry alone.

Second Run Whispers
When I finished writing Before the Broken One, I thought I had no more words to offer. The pages had poured out of me in a rush, as though they were waiting all along, and I closed that book believing it was the end of what I could say.
But life has a way of surprising us. Morning by morning, as I sat with tea on the sheltered deck, wrapped in a gingham wrap, listening to the jays and crickets, words began to return. Not heavy with despair, but light with comfort. Not a cry this time, but a whisper.Will be published in February 2026
